Privacy Policy
How the Philippine Education Consulting Association (PECA) collects, uses, and protects personal data on pecataiwan.org.

This page is an English summary provided for the convenience of our international partners. The Traditional Chinese version at pecataiwan.org (/privacy-policy) is the authoritative version. If any discrepancy arises between the two, the Chinese version prevails.
The Philippine Education Consulting Association (PECA, "the Association") respects the privacy of every visitor to this website. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. It is written in accordance with Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). By using this website, you acknowledge the practices described below.
1. Scope
This policy applies to pecataiwan.org only. It does not apply to external websites linked from this site, nor to the websites operated independently by PECA member agencies. Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them before providing personal data there.
2. Data We Collect
Depending on how you interact with the site, we may collect:
- Identifying and contact information you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, and address.
- Information you submit through contact forms or send to us by email or phone.
- Technical visit data, including browser type, IP address, and pages visited, collected through analytics tools.
- Cookies and similar technologies, as described in Section 6.
We collect this data when you fill in a form on the site, contact us by email or phone, participate in Association events, or browse the site (via analytics).
3. How We Use Data
We use personal data to respond to service inquiries, administer Association membership, send event notices and newsletters, improve the website, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your data for marketing without your consent, and we do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.
4. How We Protect Data
The Association applies reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit, access controls limiting who may handle personal data, firewalls, and periodic review of our security practices. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Sharing and Disclosure
If you request a consultation, your contact information (name, phone number, email) may be shared with PECA-certified member agencies so they can respond to your inquiry. Member agencies remain subject to Association supervision in their handling of such referrals.
We may disclose personal data where required by law or by a competent government authority.
We also rely on third-party service providers to operate the site, including Google Analytics, cloud hosting, and email services. These providers process data only to the extent needed to deliver their services.
6. Cookies
This site uses necessary cookies (required for basic operation), analytics cookies (to understand how the site is used), and functional cookies (to remember your preferences). You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings; doing so may affect some site functions.
7. Your Rights
Under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act, you may request access to your personal data, request a copy of it, ask us to correct it, ask us to stop collecting, processing, or using it, or ask us to delete it. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 10.
8. Children's Privacy
This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 12 years of age. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by a notice on the homepage or, where appropriate, by email. The date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
